Canada's war role exposed in film

Independent documentary filmmakers Amy Miller and Boban Chaldovich are currently on a 41-city coast-to-coast tour premiering their new film 'Myths For Profit'. Released by Wide Open Exposure, an autonomous media production team, Myths For Profit is the first documentary ever to investigate and expose Canada's role in the industries of war and peace. Myths For Profit uses both historic footage and new interviews with politicians, bureaucrats, analysts, historians, professors, and others, to challenge several common misconceptions and myths about Canadian foreign policy, especially relating to the way Canada's military is used around the world, as well as the aid money we give to third world and developing nations. The hour-long film is divided into three parts based on three major myths including ‘Canada is a peacekeeping nation'; in which the myth of Canada as an altruistic nation only interested in 'keeping the peace' is thoroughly discredited.

'Myths For Profit' presents ample evidence that suggests Canadian foreign policy is, and always has been, driven by ulterior motives relating to commerce, and strategically hidden geopolitical agendas. Even Canada's role in pushing for the first U.N. peacekeeping force is called into question, as is the current use of blue berets around the world. The film goes on to put pieces of the puzzle together, showing how different government agencies such as Industry Canada and the Department of National Defence are involved in promoting and subsidizing the massive Canadian military industrial complex.

It lists dozens of weapons companies receiving billions of dollars from various agencies of the Canadian government, who then sell these weapons components around the world to profit from conflicts. Profit, being a central theme of the film, is also shown as the motivating factor for providing loans and ‘tied aid' to the nations we help destroy.
