Fashion Fashionista: Scarves, layering in for fall

This school year will bring on three of my all time favourite seasons, full of different colours, textures and eras of inspiration.

These truly are the best years of your life; they will fly by as you learn more about yourself and those around you than ever before. So why not rock out to these moments looking and feeling your very best.

Although fall seems to always creep up on us, this year the brisk air seemed to approach rather quickly. Before we knew it, storefronts were clearing out sweet summer merchandise to make room for great fall finds. Don't wait until the first snowfall to get your hands on this year's goodies.

In hopes of an Indian summer where the seasons melt into one another and the underlining heat remains, it's important to dress for the weather change. Sheer materials can be mixed and matched with boots, scarves and hats to keep those breezy nooks and crannies nice and toasty.

Layering is back in a big way this year and thank GAWD ‘cause it just makes sense. As we step foot into September, the mornings and evenings are often brisk, while the afternoons are perfect for working on your tan in between classes. This is where layering becomes essential.

Scarves are a great way to stay practical and warm while accenting your look. If you tend to own a lot of black or dark fall clothing, a bright pashmina is a great way to spice things up and draw attention to your most beautiful asset; your face.

Whatever your own personal style is, have fun with the changing season and new school year. Make old garments appear new again with killer boots or a great new scarf. It's amazing how a little goes a long way, and on a student budget, it's great to know less is sometimes more.
