Hello out there Fanshawe Students of 2005-2006. My name is Melissa Smart and I am your Student Union President. This summer, the Executive Council has been working hard to make this year all we can for you. This column will rotate through the FSU Executive to keep you informed about what we think is important to you.

For those of you that don't know, I started my term as president May 2005 and was a part of SAC last year. SAC is the Student Administrative Council, the major governing body of the FSU. Participating in SAC is a great idea if you are looking to get involved, are interested in board politics or are an enthusiastic leader. If that isn't the route for you but you still want to be a part of something — anything — we've got it! From FAB (Fanshawe Activities Board) to the UFC (Ultimate Fan Crew) there are lots of clubs and if we don't have one you like we'll help you start one you do. Let's not forget all the concerts, pubs, nooners and field trips we are hosting this year. Make the most of your year and you won't regret it.

I'm looking forward to this year as your President. I want you to know that you are welcome to stop by our office, SC 2001 to ask questions about our services or to look for our guidance. We're here for you!
