Holiday Cheer!

Grampa's Brandy Alexander
Perfect for a choco-holic at Christmas time. A guaranteed winner! Serve in any glass and garnish with whipped cream and sprinkle on chocolate powder.

Prep Time: approx. 5 Minutes. Ready in: approx. 5 Minutes.
Makes 2 servings.
2 tablespoons brandy
2 tablespoons creme de cacao

2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 cup chocolate ice cream, softened

Directions: In blender, combine brandy, creme de cacao, and chocolate syrup. Blend at medium speed until well-mixed. Add the softened ice cream in large chunks. Blend at high speed until smooth. Serve immediately.

1/3 Spiced Rum
1/3 Graf's Fränkische Pflaume
1/3 Creme de Noyeaux

Shake over ice and strain into a chilled sugar rimmed
cocktail glass.

1/3 Stoli Vanil
1/3 White Creme de Cacao
1/3 Green Creme de Menthe

Shake over ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Evergreen
To a heatproof mug, add
1 tsp. peppermint extract.
Add 3 oz. hot coffee and 3 oz. hot chocolate.
Top with whipped cream and garnish with a peppermint candy stick.
Cranberry Cider
To a saucepan, add
2 cups apple cider, 1 cinnamon stick, 3 cloves, zest of 1/4 fresh lemon, 2 tbsp sugar and 1/2 cup cranberries. Bring to a boil until the cranberries burst, then simmer for several more minutes.
Strain cider into heatproof mugs and serve. Serves 3 to 4.

Nutty Chocolate Coffee
In a heatproof glass mug, add a piece of dark chocolate. Cover with 2 oz. hot coffee and stir until chocolate has partially dissolved. Add 1?4 tsp. almond extract. Top with equal parts hot coffee and hot milk and stir again. Garnish with whipped cream and shaved chocolate.

The Great Hope
1/2 oz green crème de menthe
1/2 oz Disaronno Amaretto
1/2 oz Grand Marnier
Orange twist, Mint sprig, Crushed ice

1. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add crème de menthe, Amaretto and Grand Marnier.
2. Shake and strain into a brandy snifter filled with crushed ice.
3. Garnish with an orange twist and a fresh mint sprig.

Hot Mulled Wine
1 bottle red wine
12 cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
rind of 1 lemon

2 tablespoons sugar
Add all ingredients to a pot and steep gently over a medium heat until hot. Avoid boiling the mixture.
Serve in mugs with carvings of reindeer on the side (or whatever you have- it's just best not to use your best crystal with very hot wines).

Hot Buttered Rum
This is an old-time New England drink. It is said that it makes a man see double and feel single.

Ingredients
1 teaspoon powdered sugar
1/2 cup boiling water
1/4 cup rum
1 Tablespoon butter
freshly grated nutmeg
Place powdered sugar in a hot tumbler and add boiling water, rum and butter. Stir well and sprinkle nutmeg on top.

Easy Eggnog
3 large eggs
2 tbsp (25 mL) sugar
1/2 cup (125 mL) brandy
1/2 cup (125 mL) rum
2 cups (500 mL) vanilla ice cream, softened
2 cups (500 mL) milk
Ground nutmeg

1. Place a bowl over a pot of water, making sure the water does not touch the base of the bowl. Bring to simmer. Add eggs and sugar and beat over the heat until light and fluffy. Whisk in brandy and rum, continuing to whisk until mixture has tripled in volume.
2. Remove from heat, cool, then beat in ice cream and milk. Pour into serving pitcher and chill until needed. Serve each glass dusted with nutmeg.

Candy Cane
1/3 oz. Grenadine
1/3 oz. Green Creme de Menthe
1/3 oz. Peppermint Schnapps
Glass type: Shot

Directions: Layer in shot glass.
