Local Business Profile: The “King” of buffets

As the old saying goes “variety is the spice of life,” and variety and spice are certainly both key ingredients when you visit Kings Buffet on Dundas Street, just east of Highbury. It's located close to the college and is a nice reprieve from making supper, or picking up the usual fast food fare that college students tend to indulge in.

The first thing you notice when you walk through the doors is the warm, welcoming environment which was renovated this past summer. That wasn't the only renovation going-on either as the buffet menu was also ‘renovated' to include roast beef all day, everyday, but also an all-day sushi bar. This is on top of the over 100 different options in the buffet.

King's Buffet food

With such a vast array of buffet options, it's way better than anything you would get at a fast food joint. Plus with a 10 per cent discount applied if you show your Fanshawe student card, it's just another incentive that can help you feel full without breaking the bank.

“What they are getting for the value of the money that is amazing,” said Muhammad Qadri. “They don't feel hungry by the time they leave.” With a close proximity to campus, and a “menu for everyone” plus group prices that include a free soft drink, you can't go wrong.

“You can't beat the price...for 10 bucks if you're getting that much of great service, great environment, and of course great food so everything just adds up,” said Qadri.

Prices for the buffet are $9.50 for lunch on weekdays, $10.99 on weekends. Dinner runs from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and is $14.50 on weekdays and $17.99 on weekends. The buffet is open 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. (Sunday-Thursday) and is open until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Come and enjoy great food, great prices and eat like a king!
