Bond, James Bond, is full of action

Quantum of Solace

The newest James Bond movie is full of action and continues with the same realism as Casino Royale.

James Bond (Daniel Craig) picks up right where he left off, interrogating a man named Mr. White, who has information about Vesper, who killed herself to save James, and a secret organization behind her betrayal. After Mr. White escapes, Bond follows a lead to Haiti, and he must fight his urges to seek revenge. Mistaken for an MI6 traitor, Bond gets into a car with the beautifully dangerous Camille (Olga Kurylenko). After a close encounter with Camille, he follows her to her boss Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric), a ruthless businessman, who is willing to do anything for a price, and back stab everyone for power and money.

M (Dame Judi Dench) tries to force Bond to stop his investigation, worried that he is not really over Vesper's death and of what he might do. Bond, knowing that Greene is the piece of the puzzle that has been missing, follows him around the world, to Austria, Italy, and finally South America.

Along his journey, he seeks help from two old friends, Mathis (Giancarlo Giannini) and CIA agent Felix (Jeffrey Wright), as well as becoming very close to another MI6 agent, Agent Fields (Gemma Arterton). Can Bond put his past and excessive anger behind him, long enough to catch the bad guy, without getting himself killed?

This movie is action packed from beginning to end, barely slowing down long enough for the audience to catch their breath. It picks up within hours after Casino Royale left off, with Bond stronger and angrier than ever before.

With a new director, Marc Forster, this film goes straight for the action, and has less down time for Bond.

Olga Kurylenko (Max Payne) played the usual Bond girl, strong and determined, but at times a damsel in need of rescuing.

Dame Judi Dench (Casino Royal) as always was amazing, a woman to be admired for her supreme acting skills, and ability to pull off the role of M, which she has played in six Bond movies now.

Daniel Craig (Casino Royal), who is just as muscular and suave, plays this role just as good, if not better than he did before, keeping him in the position as my favourite Bond. Even though I was skeptical about the changes MGM was making to the Bond franchise, going for a more realistic, tougher Bond, Casino Royale made me a believer, and now thanks to Quantum of Solace I will never look back to the old ways of tuxedoes, flawless and bloodless fights, and martinis, shaken not stirred.

I recommend this movie to anyone who enjoyed Casino Royale and action movies like the Bourne series.

Final Words: Saw it. Loved it. Bond can save me any day.
