Summer movie wrap up

Iron Man
With an all-star cast, and great special effects, Iron Man went from comic book hero, to silver screen movie star.

Wow! I loved this movie. Everything about it was amazing. I never knew the story of Iron Man before this movie, but from everyone I have talked to, they did a great job representing everything that made Iron Man a classic comic book hero. While the plot was a little predictable, I never felt bored or uninterested.

Iron Man was just go, go, go the entire time. I really liked how the film began with all the action and the main character, Tony Stark, being kidnapped, and then went back and explained how he got there, and what he is like as a person. It just captures your interest right away.

Robert Downey Jr. (Tropic Thunder) was awesome! He is such a terrific actor, and I have liked pretty much everything I have seen him in. I was so happy when I read that they had picked him to play Tony Stark/ Iron Man. This role really suits him, the bad guy turned good, because in ways it is parallel to his own life.

Jeff Bridges (The Big Lebowski) as the bad guy, pulled it off really well. He is also one of those actors that you know a movie will be good when you see that they are in it. Terrance Howard (August Rush), with every small part, always shines in movies. Gwyneth Paltrow (Proof) was a little forgettable in her role as Pepper Potts, personal assistant to Tony Stark.

I would recommend this movie to almost everyone, because I feel that it has a little bit for everything to appeal to a large audience, and was just amazing.

Final Words: Saw it. Loved it. I AM IRON MAN!

Made of Honor

Made of Honor puts a twist on the classic romantic comedy, with a great cast, and lots of laughs, making it overall a great movie.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It is everything you would expect from a romantic comedy but with a few surprises. The story line reminded me a lot of My Best Friend's Wedding (1997), starring Julie Roberts, whose character tries to stop the wedding of her best friend because she suddenly realizes that she is in love with him.

The difference with Made of Honor is that it's told from the male perspective, which, personally, makes this movie so funny, especially when the guys sit down and fill baskets for the bachelorette party.

It was very refreshing to see a romantic comedy out of the ordinary.

Patrick Dempsey (Enchanted, “Grey's Anatomy”) was phenomenal as the best friend, and leading man. He is just so talented and diverse, from being a player at the beginning of the movie, then slowly watching him change and develop his feelings, as the movie goes a long.

Michelle Monaghan (Gone Baby Gone) was also very good in her role as the bride-to-be.

I recommend this movie to anyone who liked My Best Friend's Wedding, and likes to watch romantic comedies with a twist.

Final Words: Saw it. Liked it. Would not complain if Patrick Dempsey were trying to marry me.

The Strangers

Killers without reason or mercy, is what makes The Strangers so frightening.

I liked this movie. It was a little slow at the beginning, but as soon as the mysterious strangers appear, you feel tense the rest of the movie.

One thing that bothered me about The Strangers is that the characters kept making stupid decisions, like wandering outside, or when they got the shot gun, not just staying put and protecting themselves (although that plan does backfire). The one scene that really bothered me was when the character Kristen (Liv Tyler) leaves her hiding place and grabs a tiny butter knife to protect herself against the killer's big butchers knife. However, putting my frustrations aside, this movie was very scary, especially if you imagine what it would be like if it happened to you.

Scott Speedman (Underworld, “Felicity”) was really good. I would like to see him in more movies because I think he has the potential to have a big movie career.

Tyler (The Incredible Hulk) was also good, but at times her character was a little annoying with her decisions.

Still, without a doubt, one of the scariest parts of this movie was knowing the killers' sole intent was terrorizing strangers just because they were home.

Final Words: Saw it. Liked it. Never want to stay home alone again.
