What if I quit going to class but I don't formally withdraw?
You owe all your fees and you'll still have all F's on your transcript.

What if I don't pay my fees?
Your account will be sent to collection.

What if I drop a course or I don't pass a course?
You have to make it up before you can graduate. The course might not be offered again until next year and you might be in school longer than you'd like.

F.A.T.SYou might not be able to take courses in the next level if this course is a prerequisite.

If you have to make up a course later, you have to pay for it again.

What if I decide I need help?
Talk to your coordinator, your Student Success Advisor, or the folks in the Student Success Centre. Don't leave it too late! We can help more, the sooner you talk to us. We're in F2010, or call 519.452.4282.

What if I need help in math, or with my writing or my English?
Visit the Learning Centre in A2019 or call 519.452.4265. We offer free tutorial sessions in English, writing, math, physics, and chemistry.

What if I don't update my address or email, or, Fanshawe emails go to Junk? What if I don't read my Fanshawe mail or email and I don't check WebAdvisor?
- You don't know what your class schedule is.
- You don't know when your fees are due, so you have to pay the reinstatement charge.
- You don't know when your fees are due, so you have to pay the payment plan set-up charge.
- You don't know if you got any F's, so you don't know if you have to make up any courses and pay more tuition.
- You don't know if you are cancelled from some courses because you didn't pass the prerequisite.
- You don't know if you are on academic probation.
- You don't know if you have been dropped from your program because of your marks, and you have to reapply.
- You don't know when you can order tickets for graduation.

What if I withdraw from my program?
Depending when you withdraw, you may owe all your fees AND have F grades in all your courses! To cancel your registration, you must formally withdraw from programs and courses by written notice whether you attend classes or not. If you don't formally withdraw, all your fees are still due!

How do I withdraw?
Post-Secondary (Day School):
During the first 10 days of classes, fill out an “Application for Student Withdrawal” form in the Office of the Registrar (room E1012).

After the first 10 days of classes, fill out an “Application for Student Withdrawal” form in the Student Success Centre (room F2010).

Continuing Education:
Fill out a “Student Withdrawal” form in the Office of the Registrar (room E1012).

What about my money?
The refund deadline for day school programs and courses is the tenth day of classes.

The refund deadline for continuing education courses is different for each course. They are listed in the CE course guide.

If you withdraw by the refund deadline, you are entitled to a partial refund of your fees, as long as you don't owe us anything else. Refunds usually take four-to-six weeks to process.

If you withdraw after the refund deadline, you won't get any money back.

If you do not formally withdraw, you owe all your fees, even if you never attended class.

What about my grades?
If you withdraw before the refund deadline, it does not show on your transcript.

If you withdraw after the refund deadline, but by the withdrawal deadline date, you'll receive a “W” grade.

If you withdraw after the withdrawal deadline date, you'll receive an “F” grade.

Important Dates

- Last date to change your Summer 2008 registration (apply to or withdraw from a program, add or drop courses, get a fee refund) is May 16.

- Victoria Day (college closed) is May 19.

- Last date to apply for OSAP for three terms of study is May 23.

- Payment plan installment due date is May 28.

- Last date to appeal fees, appeal a grade or other academic decision, or to submit an Application for Change of ‘F' Grade for Winter 2008 is June 2.

- Last date to apply for OSAP for Summer Term only is June 3.

- College is closed for annual electrical maintenance June 6-8.

- Graduation is June 10-16.

- Intra-term days are June 23-27.

Payment plan installment due date is June 27.
