London bars fight off urinators

Fifteen London bars are fed-up with late-night partygoers who are relieving themselves on the streets after their establishments' close-up shop for the night.

Over the past two months police have placed over 100 charges on, mostly male, patrons with public urination and downhill bar owners are reaping the disadvantages.

“There is stream of urine running right into my bar,” said a downtown bar owner who's name has been withheld. “The worst part is the cops aren't doing anything to stop it from happening, so I had to put up the sign.”

The sign, which reads, “Please do not pee by this door. It runs inside,” is just one of the many way bar owners are politely telling their drinkers to relieve themselves elsewhere.

The result of the urinating bar-goers is a downtown stench that has gotten many community members “pissed.” “I come down here to walk my dog and all the little guy does is smell the buildings and then he leaves his own mark,” said Joe Groin. “It is really starting to smell!”

Police representatives said they are trying to keep up with the demand to catch the pee-ers, but they can't catch them all.
