Are you an aspiring filmmaker, possibly enrolled in one of Fanshawe's numerous film-related programs? Are you also looking for somewhere to submit your best short films but can't afford the application fees of the full-scale festivals? Well then, you're in luck! The first annual stuFF Student Film Festival is open for submissions beginning February 6.

The festival in its premiere year is being sponsored by WalkMyCampus (WMC), an online networking website exclusively available to post-secondary students across North America. The stuFF festival will be an exclusively online festival this year; the featured films will be promoted through the WMC website and the winner will be announced through the same outlet. The films will be judged by members of WMC as well as Canadian filmmaker Amir Azimi, who has worked on films around the world.

Amir Kendic, founder of WalkMyCampus, said of the potential this festival holds for its student competitors, "WalkMyCampus is devoted to the creation of forums to highlight the vast talent of post-secondary students. stuFF is an ideal platform to share the works of tomorrow's next great filmmakers with the world."

stuFF will begin accepting films February 6, at 9 a.m. and will be closed to applications March 20 at 9 p.m.; the films must be no more than 15 minutes in length and the applicants must be between the age of 18 and 35. In an effort to make stuFF accessible to all who wish to enter, there is no application fee being charged. Applicants are free to submit their film to a number of categories including drama, comedy, documentary and animated films. The film itself, along with the required documentation, must be sent by mail in order to be accepted to the festival.

The winner will be announced on June 4 and along with the accolades and esteem of winning a film festival will take home the $1,000 cash prize. Additionally, the winning filmmaker will receive one mentoring session with the Brothers on Fire Productions team, of which festival judge Azimi is the head.
