Looking for something fun and exciting, a little change in pace? Motivated to give back this New Year?

There is a solution for you. Get rid of your winter blues, and go blue! The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southwestern Ontario will be hosting their sixth annual Go Blue! Go Bald! campaign at Fanshawe on March 29. Participants are encouraged to get creative with the campaign — the possibilities are endless. Some options for going blue include dying your hair blue or using blue clip-in extensions or a blue feather to brighten up your mane. If you're feeling brave, shave off all your hair and go bald for a great cause.

Upon registration, participants will receive a kit that includes pledge sheets, an "Ask Me About My Blue Hair" button, Manic Panic Flashlighting bleaching hair kit and Mega Blue hair dye.

Join the excitement on March 29 from 11 to 12 p.m. in Forwell Hall at Fanshawe, where the actual head-shaving event will take place.

Keep an eye around campus for opportunities to contribute to this great cause, and help share the power of a wish. All pledges collected will help the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southwestern Ontario continue its mission of granting wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Bringing community involvement at the student level is a meaningful way to give back. "Last year, Make-A-Wish raised $170,000 across Southwestern Ontario, and Fanshawe College contributed $2,000 of that," said Erin Latam, Special Events Coordinator at Make-A-Wish Foundation of Southwestern Ontario.

As a Fanshawe student who is completing her internship at the organization said, "my goal this year is to raise $2,500. I want to get as many participants involved as possible — these kids need our help!"

Get registered today. Start collecting pledges, have fun and be creative!
