June 14 - Vas Vega performed at Matt Cohen Park at Bloor & Spadina this afternoon as a part of the NXNE Park Series of concerts. Their third such performance so far this week, the band will be playing before afternoon music fans again at Harbour Parklands on Saturday June 18.

The duo - Jordan Holman and Mark LeRoy - played a short set of mostly original songs, though a couple of brilliant covers made their way into the set, including one case in which David Bowie's "Space Oddity" was blended into Zager & Evans' "In The Year 2525". The performance was a preview of the band's feature festival gig at The Velvet Underground June 15 at 9 p.m.

Vas Vega will be releasing their first single on June 28, accompanied by a music video shot in Los Angeles. The band's debut full-length is expected later this year, and as the duo have ties in London it's a safe bet we'll see them performing locally very soon.
