One thing I never thought I would see is a legend being removed from his post.

When we think of the brand Dior, we think of "The New Look," Christian Dior and we also think of John Galliano.

Inevitably he's someone that comes to mind immediately when we think of the iconic brand. He transformed the brand into something beautiful and modern. He had a way of bringing individuality and old principles together in order to create beautiful masterpieces.

Creating couture skirts out of horse hair fibers or oriental kimonos out of specialty silk, quality has always been an evident characteristic of his work.

However/unfortunately, depending on how you take it, John Galliano has been fired. Quelle Tragedie!

As soon as the news hit the web, it went viral. Every blogger and fashion website had heard the earth shattering news. The question on everyone's mind was: Why?

The question eventually turned into: Who's next? Who will be held to the same standard as Galliano to take over Dior?

The new suitor in the marriage of Dior and fashion is Riccardo Tisci, the ex-designer of Givenchy, another famous fashion house. Givenchy had proven to be a darker, and dare I say gloomier, house while Tisci designed there.

Many people worry that Tisci will be unable to keep up the luxury and daring brights Dior has recently been known for. Galliano has helped establish the Dior name as something more. It's the uproar in profits from the brand that are so incredible. Since taking design control over the brand, Galliano has created something women want: excess.

Let's face it, women always want more; whether it's in their closets, their beds or their garages, women never really feel satisfied — blame it on genetics.

Galliano provided an overload of luxury and beauty for women. Women felt unique in his designs because of their far-fetched nature, their whimsical spirits and interesting composition.

With such a high legacy to live up to, it's troubling and most certainly intimidating to walk into a position where, so much is expected of you.

If you are unfamiliar with Tisci and would care for a few facts, let me fill you in on the type of man he is.

1. He is a strong Italian Catholic who uses religion as his inspiration in his work. To see a clear depiction of this, take a look at his men's spring/summer 2011 collection.

2. Galliano and Tisci have replaced each other once before. Between 1995 and 1996, Galliano was the designer for Givenchy. Tisci later replaced him.

3. Tisci, about to start running one of the most famous labels in the world, was never the first choice for anything. When Givenchy was in search of a new designer, they looked to countless others before settling on him. Alexander McQueen at this time was running the men's department of Givenchy and Julian McDonald was running the women's. When they eventually came together under one roof, Tisci was eventually appointed designer of Givenchy.

4. He prefers his style be called romantic, not dark nor gothic.

5. His name is pronounced "TIshee," not "TEE-she" nor "Tiskee."

Can't wait to see what happens.
