Turn your trash into art

Environmental Week is coming up — it takes place April 4 to 8 — and the Environmental Club at Fanshawe is celebrating by hosting a Recycled Arts Contest.

This contest will be judged on three different categories including usefulness of recycled materials, originality and creativity. Students must use 100 per cent recycled material, so it will not cost anything to create each art piece.

Students may enter as individuals or in groups. Sign up at the Biz Booth by 3 p.m. on April 1. There is no entry fee — all we need is your name and the approximate size and type of art you will be displaying.

Bring your recycled art piece to Forwell Hall between 9 and 11 a.m. on April 6. Be sure to bring a sign stating the title and description of the piece. The art will be displayed until 4 p.m. The official judging will take place between 12 and 1 p.m. that day.

The prize for the winner will be $100! Now, who couldn't use an extra bill in their pocket?

Come up with something awesome and show Fanshawe how we can make useless things into something extravagant.
