CSA offers $1,000 scholarships to student leaders

Who couldn't use some extra cash to help with the cost of education?

The College Student Alliance is offering one $1,000 scholarship to each of its 17 member schools.

This new annual scholarship will be given to a student who displays leadership within the college or surrounding area; however, members of student government cannot apply.

The award is also not based on financial need. "We wanted to make it fair to every student who's a part of the organization," said Justin Fox, president of CSA.

Applications are being accepted now until and are due December 17, 2010. Winners will accept their award at the CSA annual May Changeover conference next year.

The application includes transcripts, references and an essay outlining their leadership involvement.
