Letter to the editor.......RE: “Confusion arises over parking” (April 16, 2007)

I would like to add a comment on the parking here at Fanshawe. The guards that are in charge of it are some of the offenders. Three times in the last year I have had to complain to Ms. Dietze that the guards are using the handicapped spots out side of the night entrance while they go inside to get their keys in the morning. These spots are for handicapped people, not people in a hurry, unless stupidity is a handicap.

When I have politely protested to the offending guard I have been told to “mind my own damn business” and called a “damn troublemaker” (apologies for the language but this is a quote). After the first time I caught them doing it (certainly not their first time from what others have said, especially the person whose handicapped spot they are abusing).

I had a discussion with Ms. Dietze who said that the guards would be told not to do this. If they won't follow the rules, how can students be expected to.
