10 Things I Know About You...Meeting coach Ruitenbeek

Jay Ruitenbeek is in the second year of Manufacturing Engineering. Ruitenbeek says: “I'm a tall, athletic, 22 year-old guy that likes going to shows, watching movies, traveling, and meeting new people. I love dogs, cars, cooking, baseball, football, surfing and spending time with family and friends. I love hockey, I play at least once a week and I am the head coach of the North London Nationals Major Midget MD hockey team for 2009-2010.”

1. Why are you here?
I'm here so I can start a career in the manufacturing sector, preferably working on LAV's or Locomotives.

2. What was your life changing moment?
My decision to enroll in my program, it has challenged me and taught me a lot about myself.

Matthew Good's Vancouver, Brand New's Daisy and Alexisonfire's Old Crows / Young Cardinals.

4. What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?
“Your reputation is important, be the person you want people to see you as.”

5. Who is your role model?
My dad.

6. Where in the world have you traveled?
East and west coasts of North America, Mexico, Aruba, New Zealand, Scotland, England, France, Switzerland, Germany, and Netherlands.

7. What was your first job?
Sales associate at SportChek.

8. What would your last meal be?
Steak, pizza, and Caesar potatoes.

9. What makes you uneasy?
Nothing comes to mind.

10. What is your passion?
Playing and coaching hockey.
