NFL Czar: Mark your Christmas calendars for big NFL matchups

It's the time of year for many things. Gifts, turkey dinners and family fellowship all have a home this time of year. It is also time for the run to the NFL Playoffs. During our Christmas break, there are several NFL games that will have a huge impact on the playoff picture.

I am going to countdown the top five matchups that you can't miss to end out the season.

5. Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys, Week 17
For the second year in a row, we will get to see this matchup to end the season. This will be either the chance for the Cowboys to win the NFC East, or have the Eagles shatter their dreams again. Which Tony Romo will show up in December? They get to show off their brand new stadium in one of the biggest games of the year.

4. Cincinnati Bengals @ Minnesota Vikings, Week 14
The Bengals have shocked a lot of people this year, and they are doing it by playing great defence. The Vikings come in as one of the hottest teams in the league, with potential MVP Brett Favre at the helm. Will the Bengals be able to keep on winning in this tough game, or will Favre and the Vikings run them over to try and keep up with the Saints in the NFC?

3. Green Bay Packers @ Arizona Cardinals, Week 17
This game could be huge for both teams. The Cardinals will likely have their division wrapped up, but may be still playing for a bye week opportunity. The Packers will likely need to win this game to make the playoffs. The only thing that will take away from this game is if the Cards have nothing to play for at this point. For the fans sake, I hope they still have to win this game, just to make it exciting.

2. Cincinnati Bengals @ San Diego Chargers, Week 15
This could be a match up we see in the AFC playoffs. These teams will likely be battling for the number two seed in the conference. The Chargers have been rolling since losing to the Broncos earlier in the year. The Bengals have been up-and-down, but should be ready for this game.

1. Dallas Cowboys @ New Orleans Saints, Week 15
This huge Saturday night showdown will more than likely be the best game still left on the schedule. The Cowboys will come in trying to prove that they are a legitimate contender in the NFC playoff picture. The Saints will more than likely still be undefeated, with the Cowboys the last real challenge on their schedule. This game should feature a lot of points, but both defences are capable of slowing down the opposing offence. I say the Cowboys make the statement, taking a 28-24 victory in the Superdome.

Coming up after the Christmas break, it's playoff time! I will take a look at the teams to beat heading into the playoffs.
