10 Things I Know About You...Wertsch lovin' the lens

Michelle Wertsch is a photography in her first semester at Fanshawe. Michelle says she is a unique 18 year old girl that is trying to get on her own two feet and find out what life has to offer.

1. Why are you here?
I'm going to Fanshawe to further my education so I can start a career. I'm not sure which aspect of photography I want to go into, but I think I will get the direction I need here.

2. What was your life changing moment?
Up until now, the most life changing moment I had was moving from Germany to Canada. Not knowing the language and leaving everything behind was very scary but it definitely broadened my horizons and shaped me into who I am now.

3. What music are you currently listening to?
The Weakerthans, I was recently introduced to them and fell in love with their sound.

4. What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?
Never say never and nothing is impossible. If you put your mind to it and work hard anything is possible.

5. Who is your role model?
My parents are my best role models. I learned and continue to learn from them, I idolize them for how hard working they are and their continuous positive outlook and help.

6. Where in the world have you traveled?
Wow, all over. I love to travel and meet new people and see new places. One of my favourite places I've been is Turkey. It was so different from anything I have ever encountered and they had the best apple tea!

7. What was your first job?
My first job was working in the children's department of a public library. I am a huge bookworm and love kids, it was perfect.

8. What would your last meal be?
Schmarn, it's the most delicious German food.

9. What makes you uneasy?
Mostly heights, small insects and the dark.

10. What is your passion?
One hundred per cent photography of any kind.
