Born April 11, 1981 in Brazil, Ambrosio began modeling when she was 15-years-old, but her model-status didn't spark until after her first appearance in the 2000 Victoria Secret Show. Standing five-foot -10 inches, this beauty has modeled for labels such like Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani, Rolex, Oscar de la Renta and Gucci, while strutting her stuff on the catwalk for designers like, Christian Lacroix, Fendi and Ralph Lauren, just to name a few.
Ambrosio isn't just a supermodel, she is a designer of a small line of swimsuits called Alessandra Ambrosio by Sais for the label Rosa Chá. She has made a few television and movies appearances, for the TV hits “How I Met Your Mother”, HBO's “Entourage”, “The Tyra Banks Show” and “Project Runway 2”, along with a small cameo as a tennis girl in 2006's Bond movie Casino Royal. Ambrosio also represents the National Ambassador for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society; a disease her father suffers from.
Aside from all Ambrosio 's professional successes, she and her fiancé Jamie Mazur, had their first child, a bay girl named Anja Louise Ambrosio Mazur in August 2008. And just three months later, she was back on the runways modeling for the 2008 Victoria Secret Show in Miami.
Ambrosio is one of the few super models who has an official updated website to prove she appreciates her fans, men and women alike. She posts videos and personal pictures of her friends and her travels, along with a forum with over 11,186 members and 68,869 posts and counting. In interviews she states she always tries to make time to update her blog, photos and to check out her forum and see what her fans are saying and doing.
