This porno's worth watching

Zack and Miri Make a Porno

Director Kevin Smith and funny man Seth Rogen team up to make a comedy that pushes all of the limits.

Zack (Seth Rogen) and Miri (Elisabeth Banks) have been friends since public school. They live together and spend most of their nights getting drunk in their apartment, but they have never hooked up. While not great, the life they live is comfortable. That is until the water and electricity is turned off because they haven't paid their bills. Neither of them is in a job that makes a lot of money, so they must rack their brains to find a solution to their money problems.

Zack finally gets an idea that to him seems fool proof. They should make a porno. It would be relatively cheap to make, and if it sold well, could solve all of their money problems. After what feels like days discussing the idea, Miri finally agrees that it is their only option. After finding a producer and a cameraman, both friends of the pseudo-couple, they begin interviewing people to star in their movie.

Zack and Miri finally find four very talented and “special” individuals, plus themselves, to star in their movie. They begin filming and all seems well until the discussion of whether Zack and Miri will only have sex with one another for the first time, or if one or both of them will have sex with another cast member as well. Since everyone knows that sex changes everything between friends, can these two make it through the filming to save their apartment and their friendship?

Zack and Miri was hilarious. While written and directed by Kevin Smith (Clerks, Dogma) it stars Apatow's golden boy Seth Rogen. While Smith's movies have been popular, they have never killed at the box office. Until now. Smith's style with Rogen's popularity and comical skills, Zack and Miri is sure to be a big hit. This dirty comedy brings up a lot of taboo subjects while showcasing sex and full frontal, of both sexes.

Obviously, Rogen (Pineapple Express) was endearing and funny. It seems to be that the character that he always plays is his actual personality that he gets paid to show off on screen.

Elisabeth Banks (Definitely, Maybe) was also really good in this movie. While she hasn't been in a ton of movies in the past, she is becoming more and more popular, which is well deserved. I also think that comedy suits her.

The movie also stars Jason Mewes (Jay and Silent Bob), who usually plays Jay alongside Smith's silent Bob, who was his usual flakey self, but it worked with the movie. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes Smith's movies and Rogen's style.

Final Words: Saw it. Loved it. “Her name bubbles,” and “Watch the pull out.”
