It's your classic David vs. Goliath, Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar.

Randy Couture, the 43 year old veteran standing at 6'1” and weighing in around 225lbs is taking on the much bigger, much stronger, and much younger Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar stands at 6'3” and has to cut weight to make the heavyweight limit of 265lbs, so in reality Lesher could be walking around anywhere between 270-280 lbs on a regular basis.

This sounds like a total mismatch on paper to me. Often times in a fight you think the bigger guy is favoured, he's bigger, stronger and therefore that makes him better at fighting. Well, not necessarily.

Couture isn't your regular everyday underdog; the man thrives on being an underdog and is the master of the fight strategy.

Couture has what many would call a special ability, or gift where he is able to out smart his opponent. No matter how out matched and how much of an underdog he is, Couture seems to always come in with the perfect game plan, based on his opponents strengths and weaknesses. Look for the same thing in his fight with Lesnar.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Lesnar has never been hit with a punch before. Forget the WWE side show, Lesnar hasn't competed at this high of a level since his college days, which were about a decade ago. To Couture's strength, he has the mobility factor, when Lesnar comes charging at him, simply step to the left or right, a man that big can not turn on a dime.

You ask, but what about if or when Lesnar get's a hold of Couture? He's going to crush him like a pop can? Well, if you look at Lesnar's history of fighting, and it's a short one so you don't need to look to hard, you see he lost to Frank Mir by submission after getting a strong hold on Mir and pummeling him into the ground.

Simply stated, I will not be overly surprised if Lesnar wins this fight. After all it's a fight, and anything can happen. With that said, I think, and hope, that David will defeat Goliath in this epic battle.

The bold prediction of the year: Couture winning by submission in the first round.
