Gone are the days of wearing sunglasses merely for protecting your eyes from the sun's bright rays. In today's beaming climate, eyewear is one of the best accessories to complete an outfit.

The choices we have today for eyewear is immense and the styles are getting more beautiful by the moment, not only are the majority of famous fashion designers designing eyewear collections, the knocks-offs are also unbelievable.

In my opinion, specs are appropriate anywhere at anytime. Although eyewear's practical uses are intended for both sexes, females are definitely taking advantage of the must-have accessory. Typically reserved for the summer months at the beach, sunglasses should also be worn to protect your eyes from the reflection from the harsh glare of the winter snow, which can be just as damaging.

When shopping for the wide range selections of eyewear some vocabulary will help to find the right style.

Tea shades: John Lennon, Ozzy Osbourne and Janis Joplin all have sported tea shades.

Wayfarers: This style is becoming more popular; they have a wide top frame.

Aviators: Oversized teardrop-shaped lens and thin metal frames.

Onassis glasses: Super oversized glasses worn by all the starlets and were made famous by Jackie Kennedy-Onassis.

Mirror shades: A special coating and can come in different colours.

When choosing the right pair of sunglasses you must remember just because the brand is expensive, does not guarantee optimal UVA protection.

Go ahead and wear sunglasses anywhere you wish. Although there is a miniscule chance some people will get offended by wearing them indoors or at night, go ahead, cause to me they are just so darn stylish and powerful. There is no rule anywhere that says you must remove your sunglasses. At sporting events during the national anthem, no one asks to “please stand and remove your sunglasses.” The sticker on the door of a building only tells you, you need a “shirt, shoes, not to smoke and no pets.” Nothing is said about sunglasses, so find a pair you love and fit your face shape and wear them anywhere you please.
