OBS bouncer's deep dark secret revealed

By night he's like a caged animal willing to bust heads to keep the peace in the Out Back Shack, but by day Denny Banson has a secret that will shatter the bad boy image he's worked hard to cultivate working as security/enforcer at the campus bar.

What Banson doesn't want you to know is that when his meat hooks aren't busting heads his fingers are full of thimbles. That's right, in his time to unwind Banson likes to sew, do needlepoint and knit. So much so that he's working on becoming a fashion designer.

“I first starting knitting when I was in high school,” confessed Banson. “I used to visit the elderly in hospitals and nursing homes. To pass time sitting and talking with the old ladies I had them teach me how to knit. It was great.”

It took Banson a few months to pick up the art of knitting, but he's been hooked ever since.

“I make many of my own sweaters that I think are quite good. I usually make them as Christmas gifts too,” said Banson. “This year I made this awesome sweater with an image of Babar on the front for my girlfriend. She loved it.”

After the knitting I took up needlepoint and then got into sewing and crochet.

“I love making doilies. I make them for everyone. They're so simple to make,” said Banson.

The ultimate goal for Banson is to be able to hit the fashion runways of Milan and Paris with some creative designs.
