Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer

Rudolph comes to life in this stop motion animation adaptation of the popular Holiday song. The rednosed reindeer and his elf-friend Hermey are ostracized for being different at the North Pole and decide to leave Santa's workshop in search of ‘Fame and Fortune.' Along the way the two ‘misfits' run into trouble and learn a few lessons. Burl Ives narrates this animated musical.

A Christmas Story

- Every two hours for 24 hours starting at December 24 at 8 p.m. on TBS.
Premiered: November 18, 1983 in theatres.
All he wants for Christmas is a Red Ryder BB gun, but everyone keeps telling seven-year old Ralphie he'll ‘shoot his eye out.' Between his father's obsession with a leg-shaped lamp, his brother's refusal to eat, Christmas dinner at a Chinese restaurant and his own troubles with neighbourhood bullies, Ralphie's journey to Christmas morning is full of hilarious surprises.

Frosty The Snowman
- Friday, December 8, at 8 p.m. on CBS.

Premiered: 1960 on CBS.
Karen brings her snowman to life on the first snowfall of the year when Professor Henkel's magical top hat lands upon his head. With his special hat-a-top his head, Frosty the Snowman comes to life saying “ Happy Birthday.” When it begins to warm up, Frosty and Karen make their way to the North Pole so the new snowman won't melt, but Henkel wants his top hat back. Burl Ives narrates and sings his way through this animated children's half-hour special.

Frosty Returns
- Friday, December 8, at 8:30 p.m. on CBS.
- Wednesday, December 19 at 8:30 p.m. on CBC.
Premiered: 1992 on CBS, and was directed by SNL's Lorne Michaels.
It's hard for this new generation of Frosty and friends to compare to the original, even when John Goodman is voicing the singing snowman. This time around Holly and her magic top hat bring Frosty back to life, but his longevity is threatened by the miracle product Summer Wheeze, which melts snow, and Frosty, with just one spray.

A Charlie Brown Christmas
- Tuesday, November 27 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
Premiered: December 9, 1965 on CBS.
On a search for the true meaning of Christmas, because he is usually depressed during the holidays, Charlie Brown joins the annual school pageant. It's up to him to pick out the tree for the play and, unfortunately, in typical Peanut fashion, he chooses what looks like a limp stick. Even when he tries to dress it up he fails, saying, “I killed it! Augghh! Everything I touch gets ruined!” Although, Charlie Brown's friends come to the rescue and teach the Peanut the true meaning of Christmas.

Olive, the Other Reindeer
Premiered: December 17, 1999 and was produced by The Simpson's creator Matt Groening.
Based on the 1997 children's book by Vivian Walsh and J. Otto Seibold, Olive, the Other Reindeer, who is voiced by Drew Barrymore, is a new addition to the Christmas classic television lineup. When Olive the dog, who doesn't act like it, finds out that there won't be a Christmas because Blitzen has been injured and misinterprets a radio announcement, she races to the North Pole to help.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Premiered: December 23, 1966 on CBS.
Dr. Suess's classic tongue twister is told in true fashion in the classic animated half-hour special. Whoville's resident Grinch, who's heart is two sizes too small, is so bent on ruining Christmas for all the Whos that he devises a plot to dress as Santa Claus and steal everything in town associated with the season. Little does the Grinch, and his faithful dog Max, know that Christmas comes all the same, and the Whos still celebrate. Instead of being disappointed, the Grinch learns the true meaning of Christmas.

The Muppets Christmas Carol

Mickey's Christmas Carol
- Monday, December 17 at 7:30 p.m. on CBC.
- Saturday, December 20 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
Premiered: December 16, 1983.
From animated Disney characters to ageless Muppets and all the way back to classic black and white, Dickens “A Christmas Carol” comes to life in all three versions. Ebenezer Scrooge is a wealthy old miser, who devoted his entire life to making money and has no time for the Holidays because he is too busy working his employees to the bone, especially Bob Cratchit. On Christmas Eve Scrooge is visited by three ghosts who take him to the past, present and future so he can gain compassion and change his values. He wakes up Christmas morning with a new perspective and delivers a special Christmas to Cratchit's deserving family.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase) isn't having a good year. He just got his car stuck under a Mac truck in search of a perfect Christmas tree and his entire family, including his broke Cousin Eddie, have come to stay for the holidays. On top of it all, Clark's soon-to-be-a-pool bonus is replaced with a “Jelly of the Month” Club membership. Between stringing his Christmas lights and a disastrous Christmas Eve dinner, the Griswold family has an interesting holiday.
