Read this, if you have time

It's 3:25 a.m. and I can't get back in the mood. Maybe I'm trying too hard, maybe I'm too tired for this right now, but I've put in too much time and effort to waste this night. I take a break and go to the fridge and I crack a cold one, suddenly I get my buzz back and I'm ready to get back and finish what needs to be finished; this assignment will be done before it's due tomorrow, thanks RockStar.

Why is it that we procrastinate, how come so many students wait until the last minute to start studying or to finish a project. It's because we are students; school, work, friends, significant others and we just don't have enough time (or do we).

Time management is a constant problem for most students; if you don't manage your time properly you can fall behind in school, lose your job or lose your social life.

What can you do so that this doesn't happen to you (again)? Remember that as a student, school should always come first. If there is a Halloween Pub you want to go to on Wednesday at the Out Back Shack (wink wink) and you have two major assignments due on Friday, please don't leave the assignments until Thursday to start. Manage your time, perhaps you should work on the assignments on the weekend or stay in Monday and get them done early.

Here's a few more tips to help manage your time:

- Use your breaks between classes to do work; many students waste valuable time.

- Don't let assignments pile up; no need to explain this one, if you do then you'll never have free time.

- Focus on one project at a time; if you try to do them all at once you'll only over-whelm yourself.

- Don't spend three hours a day on Facebook; yes it is addictive, but you have no idea the amount of time wasted on this site.

- Only work when you have free time; money is great but an education is better.

Now here's a few more ways to free-up time:

- Run everywhere you go, you'll save lots of time.

- Stop showering; this can save 10-30 minutes a day and a hat and cologne work just as good.

- Get someone else to read your textbook to you while you write an article for the Interrobang; study and work at the same time Genius!

- Build a time machine; do I need to explain this one, if you have a time machine you can always go back in time to do the assignment (all you need is a flux capacitor).

Enjoy the rest of your semester Fanshawe if you have some free time come by and visit your friendly neighbourhood FSU.
