Local debate draws throngs of students

About 15 students jammed into Forwell Hall to hear local politicians blather on about what they will do for you if elected in the quickly approaching Ontario provincial election.

Forwell Hall, a 400 seat multi- purpose facility was the site of the lively debate that featured representatives from the main political parties vying to become the next government of Ontario.

As master debaters which the local candidates in London Fanshawe have become known for, answered dozens of queries with scripted party platform answers the crowd quickly became disinterested.

“I asked a question in regards to smog days and then all I hear about is global warming,” said Joe DeRootcanal. “If there was an original thought in the room I would have been suprised. Even when I was looking at the hot chick with the major guns I knew all the other guys were thinking the same things as me.”

Organizers were pleased with the stellar turnout as previous debates drew crowds of six or less, and usually those six were party plants.
