When will Canada start paying its debts?

Canada’s debt is at an all-time high with over $1,356 billion and the Canadian Government doesn’t seem to be taking any action to rectify this.
Canada’s debt continues to rise with it currently calculated at $1,356 billion, according to Montreal Economic Institute (MEI).
This debt is expected to continue to grow in the coming months. MEI predicts the increase could be as drastic as $136.7 million per day.
Like the rest of the world Canada did take a hit due to COVID-19, but it seems since then we have still been spending at a staggering rate.
The federal government pays for many services including social programs, national security, benefits, as well as the operational cost of over 130 government departments and agencies.
One of the departments being the federal government, where the Prime Minister is currently getting paid over $400,000 dollars, as well as a very comfy pension when the time comes.
This information truly shocked me. The Prime Minister knows how much debt we are in but continues to approve pay raises that obviously only benefit them.
How high does the debt have to get for the government to actually take action?
Even now, Canada is seeing GST cuts on many items to offer us a “reprieve,” but it seems the government may need the 13 per cent more than we do.
I’m exhausted of seeing greedy people continue to be greedy with money that isn’t even theirs.
Roughly 3.8 million Canadians are living in poverty and many more are living paycheque to paycheque, according to the Government of Canada. What is our government doing? Filling their own pockets while giving us the barest of “reprieves” that will just end up hurting us more in the long run.
A man who has been hated and basically forced to step down from being the Prime Minister is getting paid more than most Canadians, figure that puzzle out.
It’s just infuriating.
It bothers me to know that people who can barely afford to feed and house their families are paying into this foolery.
The government pretends they are about the people, spending money on social programs that are also barely livable, if at all, while they pull in hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.
We are going into debt paying for this, how much common sense does it take to see the debt increasing and making moves to stop it? Seems pretty simple to me.
I’ve always thought politicians were power-hungry people who can’t be trusted farther than you can throw them, but this new research makes me think even less of them, which I truly did not believe was possible.
May I just repeat, how much worse does our debt have to get before someone acts?
If Canada’s debt were divided among every Canadian, we would each be responsible for over $32,000.
We need to stop spending on frivolous things, like insanely high salaries to people Canadians have spoken about hating and focus on paying back this astounding debt.
I’d like to hope with Trudeau stepping down we will see some changes, but I honestly have no hope for that. The government will just keep raising taxes and continue to watch Canadians suffer while they wear their thousand-dollar (if not more) suits and bicker like children.
