Fanshawe celebrates donation from RBC

Fanshawe College played host to a recognition luncheon in honour of a $75,000 donation by the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) in support of the Colleges Capital Campaign on Wednesday, November 22.

Speaking on behalf of the college were, the President of Fanshawe College, Dr. Howard Rundle, the Chair of the Fanshawe College Board of Governors, Kathryn Munn, and the President of the Fanshawe Student Union, Christine Thomson.

Rundle, Munn, and Thomson each expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the RBC representatives in attendance; Laura Gainey, regional president of RBC Ontario South West, Gus Kotsiomitis, vice-president RBC Commercial Banking, and Patrick Tremblay, regional vice-president RBC London-St. Thomas.

“We try to provide students with the best available resources,” Rundle said. “The RBC donation is much appreciated.”

Gainey said that RBC were very honoured to be partnered with Fanshawe.

“We are privileged to contribute to worthy causes,” Gainey said. “We believe in partnerships with our customers. The community partners with colleges within a region, and we believe those partnerships are a strength of a community.”

Following the unveiling of the donated cheque, Fanshawe officials took the RBC representatives on a campus tour, before heading to Saffron's for a celebratory lunch.

The Colleges Capital Campaign was implemented in hopes of raising $15 million for new infrastructure projects for the College, and also to raise funds for student bursaries and scholarships.

The Campaign seeks support from dedicated businesses and industry partners, volunteers, alumni, friends, and the College community.
