Celebrating Diversity

One of the great things about Fanshawe College is when you walk around the campus people of every culture and colour is well represented. Discovering the diversity of interesting people around the world and in our backyards is important to not only Canadian culture, but to promote and encourage understanding.

To celebrate the college's diversity and growing international and First Nations studednts, Fanshawe is hosting an International Diversity Awareness Week from Tuesday, November 14 to Friday. November 24.

Tuesday, November 14
International cosmic bowling/glo mini golf at Fleetway. The event is open to all students and costs $15 for bowling shoes and three games, and also a game of glo mini golf. Bring extra cash for Dairy Queen.

Thursday, November 16
International/First Nations Pot Luck Dinner
Bring a dish from your home country. Bring anything from appetizers, entrées to desserts.

Dinner starts at 5:30pm in the Alumni Lounge above the Oasis in the Student Centre. Refreshments provided

Friday, November 17
International Movie Night
Bring a favourite film from your home country that you want to share with everyone.

Go to E1002 and let them know what movies you would like to see and if you don't have them we can try and find them. Bring a blanket, a pillow, snacks and your favourite friends.

First film starts at 7pm last movie will start no later than 11:30pm in T1003.

Monday, November 20
Building Five Snowmen
International students will help to build five snowmen to be used in the photo. If you are interested in helping on the 20th talk to Kim Rowe or Dan Parker in room E1002

Thursday, November 23
Holiday Group Photo
For all International Students and staff at 3:30pm in D cafeteria.

Friday, November 24
The International Richmond Run 2006
A night on the town. You must be19 years or older. Meeting at Molly Bloom's on Richmond St. by the train tracks at 9:30pm. We will hit as many bars on Richmond Row as we can and end at Jack's check out any other bars you wish, or head home. Bring money for drinks, and a ride home buses stop running at midnight.
