With Pride London Festival in full swing, Fanshawe showed their continued support by raising the Pride flag on campus on July 19 outside of F building.

July 19 marked the first day of London’s pride celebrations and in recognition of that, Fanshawe kicked things off with raising the Pride flag outside of F building.

According to a July 19 Corporate Communications press release, the rainbow flag has been a symbol for the LGBTQ+ community for 40 years.

Fanshawe president, Peter Devlin, raised the flag alongside the Canadian flag.

“We are very proud at Fanshawe College to help celebrate alongside the city of London and Pride London,” Devlin said in a speech addressed to attendees during the flag raising ceremony.

Fanshawe College will also be participating in the annual Pride London parade on July 29.

Pride London Festival runs July 19 to July 29 with a number of events happening around the city.
