20 Questions: Jacques takes it outside
Avid outdoorsman, Ryan Jacques, is a second-year GIS & Urban Planning student at Fanshawe.
1. What is something about you that most people don't know?
I am winning an NFL pool that I am in with a bunch of my friends, and I want to win it all.
2. If you were on a deserted island and could only bring one item or person with you, what would it be?
A surfboard, hopefully there are waves!
3. What is your greatest indulgence?
Meat from the grill.
4. What was your favourite television show of all time?
“Entourage” “The Sopranos,” “Rescue Me”. I can't pick between these three.
5. Who is your favourite band/group/musician?
Pearl Jam has been my favourite band since 1998. There was a B-side to one of Yield's singles that got me hooked, I have some of their albums on vinyl.
6. What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?
Get your priorities straight! - My mom, she's always looking out for me.
7. Who is your role model?
My dad has been the greatest influence in my life. He is a great leader at home, and in the community.
8. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose to live?
It would have to be a nice house with a big yard, in rural Ontario. Or if that falls through, the coast of Australia.
9. What was your first job?
No Frills produce department in Wallaceburg.
10. What is your dream job?
General Manager of the Montreal Canadiens.
11. What would your last meal be?
Bread and water.
12. What stresses you out?
Deadlines.
13. Do you consider yourself a risk taker? If so, what is the biggest risk you've taken?
Sure, I like to search for limits. I went on exchange in high school to and didn't know anyone when I got there.
14. If you could foresee the outcome of one event or moment in your life, what would it be?
The first party I throw at my own house is going to be legendary.
15. What is your favourite drink?
Two shots of Bacardi 8 in a lowball, with ice, topped with Coke.
16. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I wouldn't change anything about myself.
17. What actor would you choose to play you in a movie?
Craig Kilborn, formerly of the “Late Late Show” and Old School.
18. If you could have three wishes fulfilled, what would they be?
I would wish to win the lottery twice, for the Habs to win the Stanley Cup, and for a little more peace in the world.

It's got to happen sometime, why not at first sight?

A canoe trip with my dad along the Saugeen River in August.
