This year has seen many great new perfumes released and therefore is the perfect time to try something new.

One of the most overwhelming cosmetics to buy is perfumes and colognes. There have been many brands launched throughout the year, including celebrity fragrances and designer brands. Since there have been many launches, a lot of people feel overwhelmed and rather than try a new brand, people just give up and stick to what they know. But by doing that, you could be missing out on some extraordinary fragrances. There have been many launches this year that stand out amongst the rest and should be tried out.

Dior Sauvage is one of the greatest men’s fragrances to be launched in a long time, coming out this past September. The name of the fragrance was inspired by one of Dior’s original colognes, Eau Sauvage, from back in the ’60s. However, Sauvage is a more modern and fresh fragrance that smells divine and is perfect for the fall. It is fresh and spicy with some main notes such as Sichuan Pepper, Calabrian bergamot and ambroxan. Also, the model for this fragrance is Johnny Depp and therefore the commercial is a must-see.

Another luxurious perfume that has recently been launched is Marc Jacobs’ Decadence. It is his first mature fragrance to launch that is supposed to resemble sexy and sophisticated women. With notes of Italian plum, saffron and iris, this perfume has a unique smell that will be sure to turn heads this fall.

The bottle design for Decadence alone is beautiful; it is a stunning emerald green handbag with a snakeskin pattern, gold chain and a black tassel. While it has a higher price point, it is a one of a kind type of fragrance that has a great longevity.

“From darkness comes light” is the slogan for the new fragrance by John Varvatos called Dark Rebel. It is a unique fragrance that was inspired by Varvatos’ trip back to Detroit and was intended for men who are rebels and think outside of the box. It has notes of rum, leather and tobacco leaf that blend together to create a woody and spicy scent. This fragrance may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it is definitely worth trying out.

These are just a few fragrances that have been launched this year that are unique, sensual and artistic. Go outside of your comfort zone and think about switching your current fragrance to a more modern one. But a piece of advice; don’t go out and splurge on a new fragrance right away, test a couple out, spray your favourite one on your skin and wear it around for the day. If it mixes well with your body’s chemistry, you have found the winner.
