Peter's Links: Online pavement pics and pathetic personals

Round two for these delicious web bits that will keep you all occupied while pretending to learn! Here we go!

NECA ONLINE - http://www.necaonline.com/ - NECA seems to be one of the leaders in toys these days. McFarlane seemed to be up there but their last two years have been dull and their intellectual properties have been lackluster (hope grows now that they have the Simpsons and Hanna Barbara properties). So, where does one look for hot figures? NECA, that's where. Check out their site to see all the latest cool figures ranging from Hellraiser to Resident Evil 4. Their Cult Classics series is a pretty cool line and seems to be picking up the ball McFarlane dropped with their Movie Maniacs line. Toy fans will love these things!

Julian Beever's Pavement Drawings - http://users.skynet.be/J.Beever/pave.htm - If you're an artist or like the occasional trippy illusion, you must go to this site now. I'm not kidding, put the paper down and go! These drawings are 2-D but appear to be 3-D! Yes, I know it doesn't SOUND that exciting, but believe me, these are some of the coolest pieces of art that I've seen in a long time. Basically, it's summed up quite well on the website: “Anamorphic illusions drawn in a special distortion in order to create an impression of 3 dimensions when seen from one particular viewpoint.” Peep this stuff!

BONUS: http://www.kurtwenner.com/gallery/index.htm - This is Kurt Wenner's art and it has a link with similar types of drawings.

Pathetic Personals - http://www.patheticpersonals.com/ - Last week, I showed all of you single people the wonder that is Plentyoffish.com. This week, I am letting you all know that sometimes people are out there with such horrible personal ads that they're just hilarious! Pathetic Personals takes some of the best or the worst ads and archives them for you. Make sure you go over to the quote section to see some truly disturbing spelling, grammar and sentences these poor love sick people are posting online. I hope your ad isn't on there.

Funboy Productions - http://www.youtube.com/funboyproductions - This is a double plug, here. First off, you can go to www.youtube.com to see some of the weirdest home movies ever (or post your own crazy crap). Secondly, you can go to Fun Boy Productions page on youtube and see the wackiness that is my cousin and his friends. Some of the stuff these guys do is simply ball-breaking. They spare no expenses bringing you the best in amateur entertainment. Watch, leave comments and then make your own! If this doesn't keep you busy when you're supposed to be doing assignments, nothing will break your concentration!
