Angry Agency delivers punk paradise

Fast paced and politically influenced, Angry Agency has been rocking London like nobody's business for a full decade.

The band first came together in 1996 with current members Cory Boyle on guitar and Dale Wyatt on bass. By 1999 they had re-invented themselves with Kreg Kennedy on vocals, Mike Tuckerman on second guitar, Brenden Douglas on drums, Jeff Barker on Saxophone, Greg Hambley on trumpet and Tim Fraser on the baritone sax.

Combining elements of punk, ska and hard rock, the members of AA have created a fast, politically charged, catchy and in your face sound the likes of Propagandhi, Bad Religion, and NoFx.

AA has been on the punk circuit for a while and has firmly established a strong fan base at the same time as actively contributing to the London community through local causes like Reforest London and Street Connection, which focuses on helping homeless people. AA also holds an annual benefit show for one of the many London causes or organizations, their last being Reforest London in December, which raised $3,000.

Lyrically the band also strives to raise awareness about world issues involving the World Trade Organization, the Bush administration and even vegetarianism. The band dubs themselves as a strongly left-wing political band, however “not all members of the band agrees on any one topic,” said Kennedy.

Their headlining show at Call the Office on Friday, August 25 was an intense and high-energy performance, which also, sadly, was long time bassist Dale Wyatt's last.

Wyatt still put on an enthusiastic show, with the rest of AA and opening acts from long-time friends Ruth's Hat and Riverside, giving him a great sendoff.

AA's renowned live performance certainly lived up to their reputation, with the band firing off high intensity songs such as “Super Hero” and “Pepper Spray & Billy Clubs”. Both songs are off of their last album, entitled “This is What Democracy looks like,” which you can download for free from the bands main website www.angryagency.com.

AA also played the song “If You Don't Like Politics, Go Listen to Brit Pop You Fucking, Fuck” from their up-coming release slated for mid November, which is still untitled.

The CD is being released on Boyle's own Track Five Records and should be highly anticipated by music lovers everywhere. Upon release of their new album AA plans on holding their official release party here in London with a tour to follow shortly after.
