Meet your FSU Executives

Adam GourlayHey there Falcons,

My name is Adam Gourlay and I’m proud to say that I am your FSU President!

I am from just north of Toronto and have graduated from the Marketing program here at Fanshawe. This is my third year of being a part of the FSU and I am looking forward to applying my current experience to this position.

I am the guy to come to for anything to do with the campus life and student issues. The main duties of this position include liaising between the Student Union and other learning institutions, being the official representative of the Student Union and to be responsible for the coordination of the Executives’ initiatives.

I have so many ideas to improve campus life here at Fanshawe and I know that our FSU Executive Team this year will do a fantastic job in engaging you, the students, in many facets of the FSU.

Feel free to drop in to the FSU office (room SC2001) and talk to me or ask me about anything.

I am excited about being a part of the Fanshawe Student Union and I know this upcoming year is going to be great!

Allie NeebHey Fanshawe!

My name is Allie Neeb and I am your VP Entertainment for the 2013-2014 school year. I’m in my second year of Music Industry Arts and previously graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Music.

My position is really about making your experience at Fanshawe as amazing as possible. I’m here to help plan events like Orientation Week, Pub Nights, Sex Toy Bingo as well as concerts that will provide you, as students, the opportunity to meet new people and really get involved! I also head up the Fanshawe Promotions Team which is a volunteer committee that promotes events all over campus.

My goals for this year are about finding out what YOU want to see at your school and giving students the chance to show their talent.

If you ever have any feedback about events, want to drop in and chat or are interested in getting involved with our Fanshawe Promotions Team email me or stop by the office (SC2001) anytime!

Matt StewartG’Day mate,

My name is Matt Stewart and I have been elected as your Vice President of External and Academic Affairs for the 2013-2014 school year. I am an international student from Australia and I hope to bring some new ideas to the FSU. I am currently going into my third year of the Graphic Design Program here at Fanshawe.

Many Canadians ask me why I came to Canada instead of staying in Australia and my answer is always the same: volleyball. I was recruited to play volleyball for Fanshawe and was honored when being handed the captaincy in my rookie year.

Last year I held the position of VP of Athletics and Residence Life. I loved the life that the FSU gave me - looking after fellow students. This was the basis behind me running for this new position which involves dealing with students more in-depth and helping out in any way I can.

If you have any ideas or problems that you have in regards to any of the areas around the school please feel free to come in and have a good ol’ yarn to me (Australian for sit down and have a chat). I look forward to seeing many of you around the school and at our FSU events this coming year.

Jessica BrookHey Fanshawe!

I’m Jessica and I am your VP Finance for the 2013/2014 year. I’m in my second year of ECE. I was the Human Service SAC Rep for the 2012/2013 school year.

As your VP Finance, it is my job to oversee the FSU budgets and help make decisions about the main fees that affect you guys as students. I’m also always around to help when you may need it - whether it is with OSAP, bursaries, scholarships, work study and any other financially related problem that you may be dealing with.

There are so many opportunities available to you and I want to make sure that you know where to find them and how to apply to them. My main goal for this year is to help you get through a year of your schooling without all the frustration that financial problems bring.

If you ever need to get a hold of me feel free to stop by the office (SC2001). You can also contact me by phone or email. I look forward to meeting all of you!

Chris LethbridgeHey Guys,

My name is Chris Lethbridge and I have been elected your Vice President of Athletics and Residence Life for the 2013-2014 school year. I am a Business-Finance student from Ottawa pursuing a career in sport management. I originally came to Fanshawe to study Journalism before switching programs and I have been looking to gain experience in Athletics ever since.

I have worked as a sports writer for the Interrobang, a statistician and website administrator for a high school football team. Most recently, I completed an internship covering all of Fanshawe’s basketball and volleyball home games. I am very excited for this new challenge and have a lot of new ideas.

My passion for sport goes all the way back to when I was 4 years old playing t-ball. Along with 12 years of little league under my belt I’ve played 3 years of high school basketball. I watch and follow all major professional sports leagues, but I am a bigger fan of the collegiate level. I also lived in residence my first year at Fanshawe and I know it is all about having fun and meeting new people. I plan to organize tons of competitions and events that students will want to continue year after year.

If you have any ideas or problems in regards to athletics or residence life, feel free to contact me to have a discussion. I look forward to seeing many of you around the school and at our FSU events this year.

Cheers!
