London's downtown core is full of life, with restaurants, art galleries, theatres and shopping to satisfy every need. Be sure to make a stop at Victoria Park, a scenic spot for picnics and people-watching and the home to many of London's festivals throughout the year.

Richmond Row, the stretch of street between Oxford and Queen, offers high-class shopping, the famous Grand Theatre and great dining (you can't beat Prince Al's for an authentic diner experience). The Row is also London's nightlife hub, with tons of bars located on the strip.

White Oaks Mall, located in London's south end, has shops that can cater to your every need. Get your makeup fix at Sephora, grab a selection of great clothes at stores like Bluenotes, Le Chateau and The Bay and more, and get your grub on at the food court. Leave the mall and walk north for five minutes or so and you'll find a movie theatre and a Chapters.

Covent Garden Market

Delicious local fruits and vegetables, baked goods, cheeses, meats and seafood, as well as gifts, flowers, arts and crafts, make the market a warm and welcoming spot.

Museum London

Features an ever-changing collection of local art, historical artifacts and movie nights. Check the website for a list of current exhibits.

The London Transit Commission is working with Google to integrate its routes into Google Maps and make planning your trip even easier. At time of press, there has not been an official announcement about when this project will be complete, but look for it in the coming months.

Two-bus trips open up another world of possibilities, from the arty flicks at Hyland Cinema (240 Wharncliffe Rd. S.) to the deliciously retro ice cream at Merla Mae (1080 Adelaide St. N.), not to mention the shopping extravaganza at Masonville Place (1680 Richmond St.). Exploring London by bus is convenient, quick, and best of all, totally free for Fanshawe students.
