Wrestlemania 22: Pete makes his predictions

It's that time of year again where I lay all my cards on the table and try to predict the winners at Wrestlemania. Let's see what I can do this year:

WWE Champion John Cena vs. Triple H - You may laugh at me, but I'm telling you right now that Cena will be walking out of WM22 as the champ. I don't really know how or why, but there will be a shocking twist where HHH will become a face and Cena will turn into the heel seeing how half the crowd is still booing him. Maybe that won't take place, but I'm guaran-damn-teeing that Cena will walk out of WM 22 with that belt.

WrestleMania

World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle vs. Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio — As much as I love Angle (well, his character) I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Randy Orton will win the title. Angle has had it and deserves it, but we need a story out of WM and Angle vs. Orton will continue. Mysterio will put on a good match as well, but his gold is coming soon in another division.

Mr. McMahon vs. Shawn Michaels (No Holds Barred Match) — Everyone is biting their nails and asking, “will Bret Hart have anything to do with the match?” As much as we'd love to see it (Hart coming out and absolutely screwing HBK's match up), I don't think it'll happen. But then again, most people thought that hell would freeze over before we saw The Hitman and McMahon shake hands again. With that said, I think HBK will get his revenge in a bloody match for all that the McMahons have done to him over the past few months.

Money in the Bank Ladder Match - From Smackdown we have Fit Finley, Matt Hardy and Bobby Lashley and from Raw we have Ric Flair, Shelton Benjamin and RVD. I predict that the WWE will have RVD win this one and let Benjamin and Flair continue their feud. Matt Hardy will disappear into a new feud and Lashley and Finley will work a program after WM22.

Undertaker vs. Mark Henry (Casket Match) — C'mon! It's WM so it's obvious that The Undertaker will win this one. Nothing more to add except I hope this isn't painful to watch.

Edge vs. Mick Foley (Hardcore Match) — I'm such a Foley mark it's unbelievable and if I know Foley, he and Edge will have an awesome and bloody match where Foley will do the J.O.B. to Edge. Foley won't be around full time again so there's no use in letting him get the win. Edge needs to get back into the title hunt and this will solidify him as a main contender again.

United States Champion Chris Benoit vs. JBL — Two ex-World Champs going at it for the U.S. Championship? What did these two do to piss the higher-ups off? Well, JBL bored us for months and Benoit had his chance as champ and really didn't excite too many people. This one will be ok to watch but I see Benoit keeping the strap.

World Tag Team Champions Kane & Big Show vs. Chris Masters & Carlito — Ugh…there aren't any real tag teams anymore and this “throw together some people on the roster” tag match makes me shake my head. I see Kane and Big Show somehow losing this match, blaming each other and going at it down the road while Carlito and Masters will pick up their first WM win.

Women's Champion Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James — I'm anxious to see this one. I love the Mickie James character (and she's good looking, too) and I'm excited to see the craziness be unleashed even more on Trish during this match. It'll be exciting and not over 10 minutes and it'll also have Mickie walking out as the new women's champion.

Boogeyman vs. Booker T & Sharmell — Goodness…do we really care about this? Boogey will take it because they'll do whatever it takes to bury Booker T even more. Poor Booker T.

Torrie Wilson vs. Candice Michelle (Playboy Pillow Fight) — TNA? No not the other organization but good old female TNA. That's the whole point of this “match.” It doesn't matter who wins cause I don't think anyone cares! They'll both be stripping by the end of the match!

To wrap up, I think that this WM is one of the least exciting in a long time. Last year's event was sub par and I'm hoping that because my expectations are low, the WWE will pull out all the stops and give us something worth our $40. I know the performers will!
