Fanshawe proved to be less than good hosts as they took both the women's and the men's gold medal in their volleyball kick-off tournament, Overkill, September 30.

Fanshawe's men's team defeated Georgian, Seneca and Cambrian Colleges in the round robin. They faced Georgian in the play-offs winning two matches to one. The Falcons won the first two matches by just two points each, 25-23 and 29-27, to take gold. Tournament All-Stars included Fanshawe's Harrison Connell and Derek Braun. Devin Atkinson was awarded MVP of the tournament.

The Fanshawe women's team defeated Georgian 2-1 and Seneca 2-0 in their opening matchups. They went on to beat Georgian 2-1 in their play-off game and faced Cambrian in the final. After losing their first match 13-25, Fanshawe came back to win the next two matches 25-11 and 15-12, taking the gold medal. Fanshawe's Mal Limage was named MVP of the tournament. Fanshawe's Brandie Ellis and Shelby Charlton were a part of the five tournament All-Stars.
