Love won't let Liam down

He's performed with Great Big Sea and released two full-length albums already, but when Liam Titcomb returned from a trip to London, England, he came back with a whole new approach. The result can be heard on the Love Don't Let Me Down EP that was just released.

A precursor to his first full-length album with Nettwerk Music Group, the same label behind Gob and Barenaked Ladies, the EP's title track is a heartfelt tune that defies you to resist humming along. The EP includes an acoustic version of the title track as well as “Map of Me” and a live acoustic version of “Chasing You.”

The track, “Love Don't Let Me Down,” is a song about not feeling capable of carrying on with your own strength. Titcomb sings about finding someone to cling to when having a crisis of identity. The second track, “Map of Me,” is a slower paced ballad about forming an intimate emotional connection. The song emphasizes how difficult it is to truly connect and read a person's true feelings. “Chasing You,” the final track on the disk, depicts a lover searching for his partner.

The EP is a promotion for Liam's full-length album, Cicadas, which is being released later this year. You can check out his music on MySpace or YouTube or right here in London - on July 22, he's performing at the Home County Folk Festival in Victoria Park.
