It's the most stressful/wonderful time of the year

With just two weeks left before the semester is finished, the workload is increasing. But still there is an excitement and enthusiasm among the students for Christmas.

A few weeks ago, I wrote an article on Diwali ("Delicious Diwali lights up India"), and I can see the same craze for Christmas all across London. The season of family and friends came early, starting in November, with Santa Claus parades happening all over the country. In London, the crowd at the parade wasn't just made up of children and families, there were also students from Fanshawe College there to celebrate the magic of the season. "Silent Night" could be heard all across the parade.

The trees have dried up in this season and they look so lonely without their leaves, but they are being decorated and included in the festive celebrations.

Students from the Corporate Communication and Public Relations program have already started planning the Christmas event for international students, which takes place on December 1 in the Alumni Lounge in the Student Centre building. Being a student of CCPR, I know what the pressure of assignments on us is, but still, the energy among my classmates is not lacking, and they are full of Christmas glee.

Now I know the answer to the question "What is Christmas?" It is a festival that leaves behind all worries and gives you a reason to celebrate and be happy. This is truly a holiday of modest spirit, a day of humble desires. What do we want? To love and to be loved; I can see the purity of this feeling everywhere now.

I don't know whether Santa Claus exists or not, but I know that even his name brings a smile to every face. So, on my first Christmas, I will not forget to hang out my Christmas stocking by the fire.
