Tiësto invades London

On Saturday, September 17, Tiësto is bringing his Club Life College Invasion Tour to the John Labatt Centre in what is being touted as the largest such tour on record for a DJ in the United States and Canada.

An unprecedented tour, Tiësto is passing through 19 large college markets before taking the show to the Home Depot Stadium in Los Angeles in October — an ambitious concert for 26,000 fans to set the American record for an audience for a DJ, the perfect way to end a tour of such proportions.

Additionally, Tiësto has announced a couple of contests rewarding his fans with the opportunity to meet or even tour with him — in one, you remix his new song "Work Hard, Play Hard" for the chance to release it on his Musical Freedom label and open for him on tour. In the other, you can win Tiësto himself at your house party by beating out other fans on social media.

Considered by many to be the world's biggest DJ/producer and voted The Greatest DJ Of All Time by Mixmag, Tiësto is a Dutch artist and record producer who first began DJing at school functions in the Netherlands at the age of 14 in the 1980s. Dedicating himself to his craft, his popularity began to rise as he moved from one notable residence gig to another, growing and releasing small works and albums throughout the next couple of decades.

In 2001, his first solo album, In My Memory, was released, which would go on to spawn 10 singles, five of which became monster hits. Since then, he's gone on to release three more pivotal records, the most recent of which was 2009's Kaleidoscope. Of course, he hasn't stopped working, collaborating with all manner of artists — his contemporaries or otherwise — and companies, even finding influence with the DJ Hero series of video games.

Now his eyes are set on his present massive tour kicking off this Thursday, September 15, and continuing nearly every night until October 8. His concert at the John Labatt Centre is the only Canadian date on the tour.

Sadly, tickets are going to be difficult to come by if you haven't already. However, as an inside tip, consider following and engaging with the JLC team on Twitter JLC — over this summer they began rewarding some of their followers with passes and the VIP experience in exchange for writing personal reviews of their adventures, and such an opportunity could always arise again in the near future.
