This has been a landmark year for The Schomberg Fair. The explosive trio released their debut record Gospel in 2009 and have been converting audiences ever since, including this year in May at the Schomberg fair - the real annual fair in their hometown for which they’ve named themselves.

The band - featuring Matt Bahen on guitar, banjo and harmonica, Nate Sidon on bass and Pete Garthside on drums - play a sharp brand of folk and punk music, driven by passion, complex vocals and Bahen’s personal experiences as an outreach worker and recuperating after the loss and reattachment of all of the fingers on his left hand.

Without question, there is much more to The Schomberg Fair than meets the eye. Catch them during NXNE on Saturday June 18 at the El Mocambo in Toronto at 9 p.m.
