The Fanshawe Falcons women's basketball team played two games last week and that has brought them back into battle for the final playoff spot in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association West Division.

According to Natasha Amo, a second-year player, "People are counting us out, but we are far from out. Playoffs are still on our mind."

This week, the team takes on Redeemer, which should be an easier opponent. The women have been getting mentally prepared and are ready to tackle the challenge ahead. "We just need to stay focused and we will be able to play our game," said Amo.

The women are getting excited to play teams they have played in the first half again, and are looking for different results against certain teams. The team still has a game against the number-one ranked Sheridan, which could be a preview of the playoffs, as well as a game against Niagara, who is hosting this year's Nationals.

Guard Phyna Lim said, "Communication is going to be our downfall. If we don't communicate, then we won't be able to win."

If the women want to get back into the playoffs, they will need to play exceptional basketball over the next couple of weeks and they should have no problem battling for the playoffs.
