London's Best Beaches and Bars

Patios and Partying

Beaches

We all know summer equals beach time. Despite London's water-less location, it is surrounded by plenty of places to get wet.

Sauble Beach
A well-known summer destination, it's got a huge beach area and received Blue Flag certification for its environmental standards.

Goderich 3 Beaches
Three beaches! What more could you ask for? Come check out St. Christopher's Beach, Main Beach or the Rotary Cove Beach — a guarded beach internationally recognized as a Blue Flag Beach candidate meaning it complies with high environmental standards.

Grand Bend
Who hasn't been to Grand Bend? A continuously popular spot for shopping on the strip, people-watching and general summer shenanigans.

Pinery Provincial Park
A favoured place for long-weekend camping debauchery, it's got a beach, 10 different hiking trails and a 14 km bike trail to enjoy.

Ipperwash Beach
Not far from London, it's got a lot of beach for an all-day visit.

Rondeau Provincial Park
A great combination of warm water of a bay and the space of Lake Erie — then Rondeau's got the fun sandbars, campsites and trails.

Wasaga Beach
Located on the southern shores of Georgian Bay, it's the world's longest freshwater beach. White sand and panoramic mountain views — couldn't ask for much more!

St. Mary's Quarry
Basically a large outdoor swimming pool, which was a former limestone quarry. But be sure to check out it out online for its swimming schedule.

Fanshawe Lake
Home to the National Rowing Team and just outside London!

Long Point/Port Dover
Destination for the Friday the 13th motorcycle weekends — makes sense given the 40 km of beach.

Port Stanley
A port town on Lake Erie has quaint little shops and Mackie's — home of their famous Orangenade and fries.

John E Pearce Provincial Park
It's got both pebbles and sand on its beach, and is surrounded by the sandy cliffs of Lake Erie. Fun fact: Federation of Canadian Nudists labeled it one of their “clothing optional” places in Ontario, despite the beach's protests that it's not.
