STP take control of JLC

Stone Temple Pilots front man Scott Weiland (former singer of Velvet Revolver) was on autopilot as his band rocked the John Labatt Centre on Thursday November 19.

Greeted by 4,800 fans, STP took to the stage with Weiland taking centre stage looking sharp with a slick black jacket that allowed him to move freely onstage with his unique style.

The show started with one of their big hits Big Empty which appeared to be a crowd favourite as well as many of their other songs, that got the audience shouting “STP! ” between every pause and extended riff that the two DeLeo brothers, Dean and Robert, were ripping in good tune.

The momentum from the beginning continued through out the evening and flying to the skies with Interstate Love Song. Weiland then jumped up on the monitors to shake the arena with his strong vocals. This was the defining moment in music history in the late 90's where alt rock became arena rock.

The show however ended promptly with a quick goodbye on stage, then shortly after 10 minutes of fans chanting again, they came and encored Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart, this had the complete involvement of fans as they sang with a roar of approval. Over all The Stone Temple Pilots put on a good show and it indeed was a hot night in downtown London.
