Alison GriffithsQ. What are you currently Taking at Fanshawe and how do you enjoy the program?
A. I am currently taking financial planning in the business program and I really enjoy the program. It's a little busy with homework and basketball but I manage it all out.

Q. What are your plans for after Fanshawe: a career or basketball?
A. My biggest dream is going over to Europe to play professional basketball in Italy. It's where all my families from and I would love to go live there. It would also be great to land a job out there as well.

Q. Why did you choose Fanshawe?
A. I originally attended Western and played for the women's basketball team there. Then I broke my leg and started coming to the Fowler clinic for physio at Fanshawe and started being interested in Fanshawe and the basketball team, than decided this was the place for me.

Q. What do you feel your role is on the team?
A. I'm a point guard and also a veteran, I have to show leadership and be a “director” of the team. Sometimes I like to be a scoring threat and I always like to lead by example.

Q. Define success in your own words.
A. Success is coming into every game and competing as a team and completing every goal as a team. Without a team success wouldn't be possible in this sport.

Q. Who is your role model and why?
A. My dad is my biggest role model to me, he was an all Canadian football player for Western and during his time there they won the Vanier Cup. He's a high calibre athlete who I want to surpass with my own talents and commitment to sports. I'm almost there and can't wait to show him.

Q. What is your opinion on what the outcome will be this season?
A. If we stay together as a team this season the nationals will definitely be within reach. We have a talented team and we just need to stick together and keep each other on top of the ball.

Q. What are your strengths on the court?
A. I have great court vision and I can see the court really well. I am smart on defence too.

Q. What are your weaknesses?
A. My left hand and my shooting. I seem to sometimes lack the confidence of taking a shot.
