It makes men look cool, women crazy

He's Just Not That Into You

A self-help book turned movie where the women are crazy, the men are cool and relaxed, and Justin Long carries the comedy.

He's Just Not That Into You follows the relationships of five women who are strangely intertwined. Gigi (Ginnifer Goodwin) has horrible luck with men and a bad habit of over analyzing everything that they do or don't do and say. Her obsessive behaviours hit rock bottom when she goes to a favourite bar of a guy she had been on a date with who had never called back, hoping to run into him. While waiting at the bar, she meets Alex (Justin Long) who gives her the flat out truth about why the guy never called; he's just not that into you! While hard to swallow in the beginning, Gigi becomes reliant on asking Alex's advice every time she goes out with a guy, hoping to stop wasting her time on guys not interested and finding the one who is.

Anna (Scarlett Johansson) is a yoga instructor who has just never found that special guy. That is until one night at the grocery store when she meets Ben (Bradley Cooper). They talk and flirt and all seems to be going well, until he tells her that he is married. They decide to be friends, but Anna keeps pushing the boundaries of friendship in hopes of winning her man and getting that ring off his finger.

Beth (Jennifer Aniston) has been with Neil (Ben Affleck) for over seven years. She desperately wants to get married, but every time she broaches the subject, he tells her that marriage will change everything between them and why would she want to do that to them.

Janine (Jennifer Connelly) has been lucky enough to find a man she loves, get married and now they are renovating their dream home together, but recently he seems distant and she doesn't know what happened or how to fix it.

Mary (Drew Barrymore) is astounded that dating has become an electronic sport of texting and Myspace and 12 different ways to get a hold of a person. Trying to find love when you are searching for where a guy might have left you a message is making her life frustrating.

While this movie was funny and showcased many insecurities that women can have, it took every situation to the max and ended up making the women look crazy and obsessive, while the men in the movie just sit back and relax and enjoy life, well for the most part.

While overall a funny movie, the best lines were delivered by Justin Long (Zack and Miri Make a Porno) who is the one guy who tells the truth, that “he's just not that into you.” An amazing premise because it's true that sometimes the analyzing needs to stop and the truth has to be told.

An all-star cast helps to make this movie enjoyable and worthwhile. It's funny and has heart at the same time. I recommend this movie to anyone looking for a refreshing and new romantic comedy and who likes Justin Long.

Final Words: Saw it. Liked it. We're not all that crazy, I swear.
