Police are on the lookout for a potential predator.

A young female who was alone in a common area of a 76-Baseline Road apartment complex was a victim of an unprovoked attack by an unknown male.

The suspect in question fled the scene when the female resisted him.

Only minor injuries were sustained during the ordeal and the victim did not require medical attention.

According to a press release, the suspect is being described as a white male, between the ages of 35 and 40.

Approximately a 5'10” frame on an average build. He has shoulder length hair that was described unkempt and dirty.

At the time of the incident, the suspect was said to be wearing a dark coloured nylon bomber jacket and dark jeans. Had facial hair and appeared to have a scar above his right eye.

“Assaults can occur at any given time, but they are more repetitive at night time,” said Amy Phillipo, a media relations officer of London Police Services.

Phillipo is advising particularly women to try to stay in groups and never try to walk alone in the evenings. Carry a cell phone at all times if possible and attempt to stay close to well-lit areas. Know what is going on around you and be aware of your surroundings at all times.
