Around the Ring: TNA PPV plays like Impact, stumbles

With all my bitching last week about my dissatisfaction with WWE's last PPV, I totally forgot to preview the TNA PPV that happened last Sunday. With that being said, I'm going to quickly give my two cents on the matches and storylines and touch upon WWE's week.

The Prince Justice Brotherhood defeats The Rock N' Rave Infection
This match was just typical TNA Impact filler. Nothing memorable here except for how hot Christy Hemme is.

Awesome Kong defeats ODB
In what should have been a great knockout match, we saw the two ladies botch up many spots with one that could have potentially left Kong with a broken neck. Not well planned.

Abyss and “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan defeats Team 3D
I hate how Team 3D lose the easiest matches. This match saw Morgan botch up many spots. I don't care how much they're pushing Morgan because I can't see this guy as a main eventer. I hate it when you know that Devon is always on the receiving end of the finishing move/pin…just like in this match.

Sheik Abdul Bashir defeats Consequences Creed and “Maple Leaf Muscle” Petey Williams for the X-Division Championship
This match was pretty good with all the wrestlers doing great spots. It sucks that TNA totally stole the ending to this match from WWE's last PPV. It mimicked exactly what Jericho did. Two things that suck even more (and is downright despicable) are Bashir's “nickname” (which I don't care to reprint here) and his entrance! Did anyone hear the plane engine sound and then the explosion afterward before his music hit? I even emailed TNA telling them how appalled I was. There's a difference between cheap heat and being tasteless. This was tasteless.

Taylor Wilde defeated Angelina Love to keep the Knockout championship
This was a decent Knockout match. Too bad that was overshadowed by all the outside interference and chaos that didn't do anything for anyone.

Sonjay Dutt defeates Jay Lethal in the “Who gets to marry Val” match
This storyline sucked after the second week (thanks to the absurdity of Val not picking her fiancé over the person that ruined her wedding and all her other stupid decisions) and I hope it now lays to rest. Val turned on Lethal to give Sonjay the win right at the end. This was actually the match of the night accompanied by the worst storyline (and ending). Cheers to these two for actually creating unbelievable spots during the match. There's just no where else this feud can go now.

Beer Money, INC retains the tag belts against LAX
Another Impact match with an Impact idiotic ending. Powder in the face? We're not in the ‘80s anymore, are we?

MMA-Style match between Frank Trigg and AJ Styles
This match became a no contest. Stupid match, stupid moves, stupid ending. Any person who has watched MMA before scoffed at this. The crowd was vocal of how bored they were and I hope TNA doesn't touch one of these fixed MMA style fights again. Stay to fixed wrestling, please.

Samoa Joe beats Christian Cage vs. Kurt Angle Triple Threat Match for The TNA Heavyweight Championship
This was the second best match of the night. It was great until that idiot, Jeff Jarrett came to the ring and busted open Angle with the guitar.

OH! Out of room. I'll just say Raw last Monday set a decent tone for the matches that will be taking place in two weeks at “No Mercy.” I just hope HBK vs. Jericho part three will be better than the last with their ladder match (I'm putting my money on “yes:”).
